17cm Assist

The 17cm position a unique position for Slingshot, designed to be perfect for both beginner and intermediate assisted foilers. Motor Position is measured from the center of the pod to the bottom of the mast foot, the Assist position useful for short bursts of power to get on foil, the totally disappears to utilise natural elements like wind or waves to sustain your foiling. The motor height allows you to "surface motor" to the lineup, or upwind, without risk of your board touching down, while remaining close enough to the board to not interfere with your ride once on foil. The Assist Mast mast delivers clean lift, reduced drag, and efficient, responsive performance with controlled electric assist. Designed to extend every session, it helps riders get on foil faster, ride longer, and unlock more conditions with confidence and control.

You’ll need to decide between the MAX or Slim Foil Drive. The MAX is our most popular kit, designed as the ultimate all-rounder with extended runtime and plenty of power for every session. The Slim, is a lightweight option created for riders who want a minimal setup and quick bursts of performance.

Each system can be paired with different battery sizes to suit how you ride. Larger batteries deliver longer runtime, while smaller batteries keep the weight down, perfect for performance foiling and a more agile feel on the water. 3. Choose Your Motor

Your motor sets the tone for your ride. The Standard motor is great for most ride styles, or if you’re chasing longer runs, more torque, and that extra surge of power, the High-Power motor is your upgrade. why a foil assist?

More than a collaboration, the release of the Foil Drive x Slingshot Integrated Aluminium Mast is a pathway for Slingshot riders to expand their quiver into new areas. A combination of high-performance foils and masts with Foil Drive’s cutting-edge assist systems, we’re delivering a seamless blend of power, efficiency, and innovation.

Can we move the position of the motor?

Foil Drive Integrated Masts cannot be altered. this means that once the motor is in position, you can change where it is placed. You can order a Foil Drive without an Integrated Mast if you wish to do this, or opt for two different Integrated Mast setups.

Will Foil Drive fit my existing foil setup?

Foil Drive systems are designed to mount to all prone, SUP, and wing foil boards and foils, making it easy to integrate into your current setup.

Can I use Foil Drive with my existing board and foil?

Yes. Foil Drive is universally compatible with a wide range of boards and foils, including prone boards, mid-lengths, SUPs, wing boards, and inflatables. This lets you learn on stable gear you’re comfortable with and transition to higher-performance setups over time.

How is Foil Drive different from a traditional eFoil?

Unlike traditional eFoils, Foil Drive is lightweight, modular, and adjustable. It integrates with your existing foil gear instead of replacing it with a large, dedicated board. As your skills progress, you simply reduce the assist until you’re riding unpowered, making it a system you won’t outgrow.

Will I outgrow Foil Drive as I improve?

No. Foil Drive is built to progress with you. The same setup that helps with your first flatwater flights can later be used for surf foiling, winging, downwind runs, wake foiling, and pumping. As you improve, you use less assist rather than replacing your gear.
