Can I use the Pelican without a Foil Drive?

Absolutely. While it’s optimised for Foil Drive, the Pelican features standard 13” twin tracks, making it fully compatible with traditional prone foil setups.

What makes the Pelican different from other Foil Drive boards?

Unlike many adapted designs, the Pelican was developed from the ground up by Gerry Lopez to plane faster, reduce drag, and deliver a more natural surf foil feel, resulting in earlier takeoffs and smoother flight.

Is this board suitable for beginners?

Yes, the Pelican is designed to make foiling more accessible, especially when paired with Foil Drive. Its stability at low speeds and efficient lift help reduce the learning curve, while still offering performance for experienced riders.
