Seamless Power Assist Meets Armstrong Feel
Introducing Armstrong x Foil Drive Integrated Carbon Masts
The Armstrong Foil Drive Integrated Carbon Masts redefine what’s possible with powered foiling. Unlike standard integrated systems, this setup is purpose-built to reduce drag and unlock a smoother ride from take-off to touchdown.
For beginners, that means easier lift and no more sudden stalls when the motor pod hits the water. For advanced riders, it’s seamless wave performance, can glide through without experiencing drag or stopping abruptly, unlike with standard designs where hitting the motor pod can cause you to bog.
Whether you’re chasing bumps on windless days or just starting out, it turns small waves into endless sessions with unmatched performance, flow, and clean lines.

Foil Assist Integrated Carbon Mast
Foil Assist Integrated Carbon Mast
The 185mm motor pod position hits the sweet spot for most foil-assist disciplines, low drag, well-balanced and basically invisible once you're on foil. While some advanced riders prefer to mount it closer to the board, and beginners stretch it out to 220mm for extra margin, 185mm remains the goldilocks zone for everyday versatility.
Complete your Foil Drive X Armstrong set up
The Integrated Mast is available with a Foil Drive Motor Pre-installed with the cable run internally. The motor is permanently fixed to the mast and can be paired with Armstrong Foils and Boards.

1. Choose Your System
You’ll need to decide between the MAX or Slim Foil Drive. The MAX is our most popular kit, designed as the ultimate all-rounder with extended runtime and plenty of power for every session. The Slim, is a lightweight option created for riders who want a minimal setup and quick bursts of performance.

2. Choose your battery
Each system can be paired with different battery sizes to suit how you ride. Larger batteries deliver longer runtime, while smaller batteries keep the weight down, perfect for performance foiling and a more agile feel on the water. Whether you’re chasing endurance or chasing waves, the right battery choice ensures your Foil Drive moves with you.

3. Select Your Board And Foils
Complete your foil assist with AK Durable Foils and Boards. We recommended the AK Durable Nomad foil board range.

Why a Foil Assist?
More than a collaboration, the release of the Foil Drive x Armstrong Integrated Carbon Mast is a pathway for Armstrong riders to expand their quiver into something that has until now, been impossible. A combination of high-performance foils and masts with Foil Drive’s cutting-edge assist systems, we’re delivering a seamless blend of power, efficiency, and innovation.
How does a Foil Drive work?
Foil Drive Foil Assist systems are design to mount to ANY foil gear on the market. The electronics box is bolted between the board and the mast, with a motor cable running externally to a desired position on the mast, motor positions differ depending on the use.
Multiple size batteries are available that can are inserted to the electronics box with then a hand held, wireless controller. The whole assist system can weight as little as 3.75kg (8.2lbs) and is designed to assist your pop up, then disappear out of the water for free foiling. Riders do have the option to run the motor lower, and in “efoil” position if desired! The system can be removed at any time, making a great addition to any quiver.
What are the benefits for a rider?
- Explore new disciplines.
- More time on the water as small conditions are usable.
- Learn and Progress easier and faster.
- Convert existing gear for flatwater leisure foiling.
- Utilise gear for teaching friends and family.
Why an Integrated Mast?
Integrated Masts have become highly desired within the Foil Drive community as they reduce drag and install time while maintaining a sleek look. They are perfect for those who never want to remove their Foil Drive or change the motor position, making for a faster install and a smoother ride!
