Jimmy Lewis has been shaping and building boards for over 50 years, beginning with surfboards in 1968 and expanding to windsurf, kite, stand-up, and foil boards. Unique in his field, Jimmy not only designs but constructs each board himself. His expertise lies in achieving the "Golden Ratio," a blend of curves and contours that optimizes board performance across various water sports.
Starting with a homemade surfboard at age 12, Jimmy's journey took him from shaping surfboards in Maui to pioneering in windsurfing and kiteboarding. His boards have set multiple speed records and gained global recognition. Today, Jimmy continues to innovate and shape boards for surf, kite, stand-up, and foil sports, partnering with Kinetic to meet the growing demand and ensuring that his boards remain at the cutting edge of performance.
After using an old Superfly for Gen2 prototyping and testing, it's use in the Gen2 release video saw an influx of enquiries for the boards. Once Jimmy linked that the demand was coming from Foildrivers, it only made sense to refine the shape even more.
The Foil Drive Approved range is designed to highlight products that work well with Foil Drive.

Inspired by the original SuperFly, designed by Marlon Lewis, The SuperFly V2 was born after interest increased in this board for Foildriving.
A unique longer shaped prone foilboard featuring a compact, high-volume shape for easy paddling and take-offs. Its beveled chine rails ensure smooth transitions both when lifting off and landing.
The SuperFly V2 has been further refined to improve water displacement as the board travels through the water.

The Flying V2 is the evolution of the Flying V. The V2 has all of the great design features of the Flying V, outline, rocker, balanced thickness flow, but with the “seaplane” bottom shape. This bottom shape coupled with the correctly bevelled rails makes for zero drag on take offs and extra soft, no “over the handlebars” touch downs. Effortless stand up or wing foiling with these models.
